Mullen, Bulldogs to be Commended by Mississippi Legislature
STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Mississippi Senate and House of Representatives will each honor the accomplishments of the 2010 Mississippi State football team in separate resolutions at the Mississippi Capitol on Thursday, February 24. Bulldog head coach Dan Mullen will attend both sessions.
Mississippi State finished the 2010 campaign with nine victories including a regular season ending win in the Egg Bowl and a 52-14 blowout of Michigan in the 2011 Gator Bowl. The Bulldogs were ranked 15th in the final Associated Press poll and 17th in the USA Today Coaches poll.
The Senate will meet at 10 a.m. and the House will convene at 2 p.m., with both sessions open to the public. The proceedings can be viewed via live webcast at the Mississippi State Legislature website - http://billstatus.ls.state.ms.us/.
Also on Thursday, Coach Mullen will be the keynote speaker at the Mississippi Wendy’s High School Heisman Award Program luncheon at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. Each year, Wendy’s franchisees in Mississippi sponsor the awards ceremony and luncheon honoring the 20 Mississippi State Finalists for the national Wendy’s High School Heisman. Ten girls and 10 boys are elected from various high schools across the state as the best ambassadors in areas of athletics, academics and community service.
