Bulldogs Entertain LSU Wednesday At The Hump

Tip at Humphrey Coliseum is set for 8 p.m., and the game will be televised by CSS. Veteran broadcaster Dave Baker will handle the play-by-play duties, while Daymeon Fishback will serve as the analyst.
"We're coming off a good win, but now it's time to get ready for an LSU team that's definitely improved," 13th-year MSU coach Rick Stansbury said. "Trent has done a good job of keeping that team together, and they've been in position to win some games here of late."
Mississippi State enters the game sporting a 14-12 overall ledger and 6-6 SEC mark after upending Ole Miss 71-58 on Saturday. The win, coupled with Arkansas' loss at Alabama, moved the Bulldogs into sole possession of second place in the West. That's key because the top two teams in each division get a bye in the SEC Tournament.
"We've won four games in four days, but it's much easier to do it in three days," senior guard Riley Benock said.
Earlier this year, MSU knocked off the Tigers 58-57 in Baton Rouge thanks to two free throws by Dee Bost late in the game. Sophomore forward Renardo Sidney paced the offensive attack with his first-career double-double after scoring 16 points and hauling in 11 rebounds.
Sidney leads the Bulldogs on the boards with his 7.7 average. Ravern Johnson, who has made 10 of his last 17 shots from the floor and 7 of his last 10 3-pointers, is tops in scoring at 17.1.
LSU (10-17, 2-10) is led in scoring by Ralston Turner at 12.7 points an outing.
In the series, the Bulldogs have won four in a row and 20 out of the last 30. MSU hasn't won five straight since winning 11 in a row from 1994-99.
After Wednesday, the Bulldogs begin a two-game road swing, starting at Tennessee on Saturday and concluding on Wednesday at Arkansas.
