Dogs Return Focus To Basics In Front Of More Than 250 High School Coaches

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Head coach Dan Mullen and his staff welcomed more than 250 high school coaches from throughout the state of Mississippi and surrounding areas to the annual Mississippi State spring coaches clinic. The 2010 Bulldog team worked mainly in position groups during today's workout, focusing on fundamentals as they reached the midway point of spring practice.
The day included instruction by defensive coordinator Manny Diaz and running game coordinator John Hevesy during the morning session and on-field demonstrations at practice. After a dinner provided by Cappe's, former Florida State defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews will address those in attendance.
State welcomed back running back Montrel Conner, who missed last Saturday's scrimmage with a bruised knee, returned to work today. Walk-on wide receiver Sam Williams suffered a knee injury during Tuesday's workout and former wide receiver-turned-cornerback Arceto Clark worked out at wideout for the first time in nearly a year.
The Bulldogs will practice at 3:45 p.m. Friday before taking to Davis Wade Stadium for a Saturday morning scrimmage set for 10 a.m.
