Mokango Invited To 2010 WNBA Draft

STARKVILLE, MISS. - Mississippi State's Chanel Mokango is one of 14 women's basketball prospects who has been invited to the 2010 WNBA Draft presented by adidas on Thursday, April 8 at the NBA Entertainment studios in Secaucus, N.J. ESPN2 and ESPN360.com will provide live coverage and analysis of the first round of the draft beginning at 2 p.m. CT. ESPNU and NBA TV will broadcast the second and third rounds.
Mokango, a native of Kinshasa, Congo, just concluded her senior season with Mississippi State after a two year stint with the Lady Bulldogs. For her career, Mokango averaged 11.0 points a game while pulling down 6.5 rebounds a contest. She added 43 career assists and 41 career steals.
Mokango's staple came on the defensive end where she blocked 180 career shots, setting a Mississippi State career record. For her efforts, Mokango was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Defensive Team in each of the last two seasons.
Mokango and the Lady Bulldogs completed the 2009-10 season with a 21-13 record and made the program's first appearance in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.
