State Works Better In Second Day Of Pads; MStateAthletics.com To Host Live Chat Series

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Head football coach Dan Mullen hasn't been disappointed with his team's effort yet this spring, but the second-year coach has urged his group to clean up sloppy play. On Tuesday, following Mississippi State's fourth practice of the spring - its second in full pads - the head man was pleased to see his words have taken effect.
"We cleaned a lot of things up today that we didn't do so well on Saturday," Mullen said. "We're going to keep installing, so we've got to bring the execution from one day's practice to the next and build on it."
The Bulldogs will return to work on Thursday at 3:45 p.m., for the first of a three-day stretch of practices. With a university holiday on Friday, State will hit the practice fields a little earlier, beginning at 2 p.m. On Saturday, Mullen will put his squad through its first scrimmage, beginning at 9 a.m. All practices are held on the Shira Complex practice fields and are open to the public.
Beginning on Thursday, April 1, MStateAthletics.com will host a live chat each week leading up to the Maroon-White Spring Game on April 17th. This week's chat will feature defensive coordinator Manny Diaz beginning at 1 p.m. (CT). The following week's chat will be with offensive coordinator Les Koenning and on the Thursday prior to the Spring Game, head coach Dan Mullen will round out the series.
