Rack Named Finalist For State Farm Coaches' All-America Team

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State senior Alexis Rack was named one of 40 finalists for the NCAA Division I State Farm Coaches' All-America Team announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Thursday.
A native of Franklin, La., Rack is Mississippi State's all-time third leading scorer with 1,743 points, ranking behind former WBCA All-Americans LaToya Thomas and Tan White. Rack is already the career leader at Mississippi State in three-point field goals made, three-point field goals attempted and ranks second in most three-point field goals made in a game.
With 105 three-point field goals this season, she is State's single season record holder, breaking her own mark she set last season with 86 threes. She now has 90 games of double digit scoring, 21 20-point games and six 30 point games. Rack is also approaching SEC and NCAA single season records. Rack has tied the all-time SEC record of 105 threes set by Cornelia Gayden in 1995. Rack is just 5 shy of 12th in NCAA history. Rack ranks fourth in the Southeastern Conference in scoring averaging 17.6 points a game while ranking third in the league in assists and fifth in steals.
The 40 finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA-member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team.
Rack, along with the rest of the Lady Bulldogs will depart for Dayton, Ohio Friday in preparation for their regional semifinal game with Florida State on Sunday. Tip time from the University of Dayton Arena is set for 1:30 p.m. CT.
