Howell, Gillom Trophy Presentation Moved To Later Date

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Due to the Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs' impressive run that has them playing in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday against Florida State, the annual presentation of the Howell Trophy and Gillom Trophy has been changed from March 29 to Thursday, April 8.
The awards honor the top male and female collegiate basketball players in the state of Mississippi.
The events at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Museum will begin with a 5:30 p.m. reception, followed by the announcement of the winners at 6:30 p.m.
Mississippi State has a finalist for both awards, Jarvis Varnado and Alexis Rack. Both won last season are looking to become the first back-to-back winners since the award's inception.

Fans are encouraged to attend this year's festivities to bid a final farewell to Varnado and Rack, two outstanding student-athletes who have brought deserved recognition to Mississippi State.
