Mississippi State Extends Mullen Contract

STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning approved the request of Director of Athletics Greg Byrne to extend the contract of Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen to four years, the maximum allowed under state law.
"We're very pleased with what Coach Mullen has done in his first year from the job on the field to the job marketing our program," Byrne said. "This extension is a sign to our fan base and our recruits and everyone involved in the program to know that we want to keep Coach Mullen for many years to come."
Mullen closed out his first season at Mississippi State by leading the Bulldogs to a 41-27 victory over their in-state rivals in the season finale.
"I'm excited about the opportunity to continue building this program to a championship level and Megan and I look forward to raising our family in Starkville," Mullen said.
