MSU Signs Texas Volleyball Prep Star Hillary Parker

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Texas prep volleyball standout Hillary Parker of College Station, Texas, has signed a national letter of intent with Mississippi State University, head volleyball coach Jenny Hazelwood announced this week.
Parker is a 2009 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, Texas, where she served as team captain and helped lead coach Cydryce McMillian’s Tigers to a 33-8 mark, the 2008 district title and advancement to the regional quarterfinals. She earned Class 5A honorable mention all-state honors as a setter in 2008 and was a two-time all-district and All-Brazos Valley selection.
"We are fortunate to have Hillary joining our team this fall," said Hazelwood. "She is a very accomplished setter that knows how to run a good offense. She is a solid all-around player and will bring great experience and depth to our program."
A two-year starter and three-year letter-winner at College Station’s CHS, the MSU signee was also named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star team.
The MSU signee is an eight-year veteran of club volleyball in Texas and a three-time club team captain competing for the Brazos Valley Juniors and this year with the Houston Juniors team coached by Vanessa Seghers and Jane Mitchell.
Parker is the second MSU volleyball signee for the 2008-09 recruiting campaign and joins November signee Dravon Rangel, a 6-1 middle blocker from Grand Prairie, Texas.
She is the daughter of Kendall and Thomas Parker of College Station, Texas.
