FINAL THOUGHTS ON SUPER BULLDOG WEEKEND We are extremely proud of the Bulldog family for its support of Super Bulldog Weekend 2009 Presented by Regions Bank. Our staff did an effective job marketing and promoting the weekend. We have received nothing but great comments from those that returned to the campus. We had a great crowd at baseball Saturday afternoon, and it was especially great to see the wonderful crowd at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field that night. We all can take a lot of pride in the fact that we broke the state record for spring football game attendance. But we can’t be satisfied with those accomplishments. That support should not be a one-time event. It should be our goal to fill the stadium. It is important from a recruiting standpoint that we have full stands whenever we play a football game. High school and junior college prospects need to see the demonstrated belief that all of us are committed to building an outstanding football program at Mississippi State. * * * CAMPUS LOSES INTERNET CONNECTIVITY Wednesday afternoon our campus lost its internet connectivity due to fiber-optic cable damage somewhere between Greenville and Jackson. The damage eliminated internet and email capabilities on the campus for approximately 24 hours. Campus staffers were unable to send or receive email communications during this time. If you attempted to email someone on our staff during that time, you may want to make sure that information was not lost in transit. Internet service was restored by late Thursday afternoon. * * * MULLEN, MSU FOOTBALL ON SEC-TV TONIGHT The weekly syndicated television program SEC-TV will feature a segment on head coach Dan Mullen and the football team tonight (Thursday). The show will air on Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Carolinas and Fox Sports Tennessee. It will also be shown on SportSouth Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. CT. The interviews and footage were shot during the network’s visit to campus in the days leading up to Super Bulldog Weekend, and will be the basis for the behind-the-scenes half-hour show that will air later this summer. * * * CONGRATULATIONS GO OUT TO STEVE CORHERN Steve Corhern, Business Manager in the Athletic Business Office, has been selected the Employee of the Month for April. Steve has been with the department since March 2000, and is one of the most visible faces at athletic events. He is often taking care of the little details that make the fan experience better at all of our venues. Steve continually steps out of his assignment working with the individual athletic budgets and scholarships to help wherever he sees a need. Steve’s heart is as big as the job he performs on a daily basis. He is a first-rate fellow employee and we all benefit from Steve working in the department of athletics. * * *
