STARKVILLE, Miss. ? The Mississippi State men’s tennis team’s home attendance figures ranked fifth nationally in the month of March as recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association this week.
Mississippi State sported an average attendance of 291 in their three matches in March. The Bulldogs had a high attendance of 338 in their first Southeastern Conference match against Tennessee on Friday, March 6. On Sunday, March 8, MSU boasted an attendance of 278 against Georgia. State concluded their home schedule for the month on Sunday, March 29, against Florida with a crowd of 257.
“Our crowds have been really supportive. They are having a good time at our matches and I think more and more people are realizing college tennis is a really exciting sport,” said Mississippi State head coach Per Nilsson. “We know there are so many different things for our fans to do on campus, so it feels good that they are coming out to support us.”
The Bulldogs have one home match remaining this season. MSU will host arch-rival Ole Miss on Saturday, April 18, at Noon CT as part of Super Bulldog Weekend festivities. Attendance is free to all home Mississippi State home tennis matches.
