MSU Ties For 4th On SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll

STARKVILLE, Miss. ? Mississippi State placed six male and female student-athletes on the 2008-09 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Friday.

MSU’s six honorees match Arkansas, Florida and South Carolina for the fourth-most student-athletes on the list, in sports in which State competes. MState placed three basketball players on both the men’s and women’s side.

MSU trailed only Vanderbilt (10), Tennessee (9), and Kentucky (8) on the list. Ole Miss (5), Alabama and LSU (4), Georgia (2) and Auburn (1) round out the honor roll in the sports in which Mississippi State competes
