Draft Complete, Rosters Set For Saturday Maroon-White Game

? 2009 Maroon-White Spring Game Official Rosters
STARKVILLE, Miss. ? Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen presided as the self-appointed commissioner of the 2009 Maroon-White Spring Football Game, and head coaches Bud Thompson and Richard Adkerson relied heavily upon their staffs as the rosters were set at a Friday morning draft.
The draft had several predetermined rules and the whole selection process took just over an hour, and the end result saw the 95 players divided evenly between the two teams. Some players and position groups were packaged together, while some of the draft was straight player for player.
“We tried to set it up in a way that would make it a competitive and enjoyable game tomorrow,” Mullen said. “And I think everybody had a good time with it.”
The intensity developed quickly, and included a few clandestine calls to trainers to check player availability.
“This was a lot of fun,” Adkerson, who will coach the White team, said at the end of the meeting. “It’s great to feel the energy of the staff. This was a real thrill.”
