Lady Bulldogs Begin Postseason At SEC Tournament

BLYTHWOOD, S.C. - Mississippi State’s women’s golf team will begin postseason play on Friday at the inaugural SEC Tournament. Three Southeastern Conference teams are ranked in the Golfweek’s Top-10, and six in the Top 25.
Sophomores Mallory Batson and Erika Thornton will continue their streak of having competed in every tournament of their collegiate careers while junior Gina Sharp has played in all of this season’s tournaments. Joining the trio for the second-straight tournament will be junior Leigh Phillips and freshman Perry Katherine Furr.
"The SEC has so many great teams and we know we have our work cut out for us this week," MSU coach Christi Sanders said. "The golf course plays long and the greens are very undulated. We have finished playing our practice round and have mapped out the course for each player as far as critical landing areas and targets. It will be very important for us to get off to a good start in Friday’s round."
Mississippi State’s Lady Golfers will begin play at 8:30 a.m. CT on Friday, compete in round two on Saturday and wrap up play at the 71-par Cobblestone Park on Sunday.
