Mississippi State's Robert Scribner Breaks 23-Year-Old Record At Stanford Invite

PALO ALTO, Calif. ? Senior Robert Scribner continued his stellar season by breaking the 23-year-old 10,000-meter run school record Friday at the Stanford Invite in Palo Alto, California. Scribner ran 29 minutes 7.06 seconds to shatter the record and earn regional qualifying marks in the event.
“Robert is now ranked amongst the Top 15 in the country in the 10,000-meter race,” head coach Al Schmidt said. “He shattered the record by 40 plus seconds, and is racing at his best right now.”
Also competing in Palo Alto, junior Adam Lenz won his section of the 1500-meter run to earn his second regional qualifying mark in the event. Lenz ran 3:45.01 to move into second place in the MSU record books.
“Adam had a good race as well this weekend,” Schmidt said. “He is racing extremely well right now.”
Sophomores Simmone Domingue and Adam Lenz also ran well for the Maroon and White while in California. Domingue ran 17:29.76 in the women’s 5,000-meter run to finish in 11th place, and Lenz ran 30:47.79 to finish in 29th in the 10,000.
