COLUMBUS, Ohio - Following its 71-63 NCAA Tournament first-round win over Texas on Saturday, the 11th-seeded Mississippi State women's basketball team will face third-seeded Ohio State in a second-round game set for a 6:07 p.m. CT tip Monday on ESPN2 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Against the Longhorns on Saturday, Mississippi State finished the game, shooting 40 percent and held UT to its second-lowest shooting percentage of the year at 30.9 percent. The Lady Bulldogs also shot a season-high 95.5 percent from the free-throw line, hitting 21 of 22. Junior Guard Alexis Rack knocked down all 13 of her foul shots as she poured in 20 points for the game to lead the MSU scoring attack. The double-digit scoring performance was Rack's 13th consecutive. Chanel Mokango added 15 points and had five rebounds. Armelie Lumanu notched her second double-double of the season as she scored 11 and added 10 rebounds. Sophomore Mary Kathryn Govero added 11 points.

Ohio State (28-5, 15-3 Big Ten), advanced to the second round with a 77-63 victory over Sacred Heart in the first round on Saturday. The Big Ten regular season and tournament champions, the Buckeyes are led by seventh-year head coach Jim Foster. OSU is led on the court by Big Ten player of the year Jantel Lavender. A 6-4 sophomore center, Lavender is averaging 21.0 points and 10.9 rebounds a game.

The Lady Bulldogs and Buckeyes have never played each other. State has also never faced a Big Ten opponent in NCAA Tournament play. With the win on Saturday, State evened its NCAA Tournament record to 4-4 all-time. Saturday's win also marked the fourth-straight time State has reached the second round. Mississippi State will be looking to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time on Monday.
