POST-SEASON BASKETBALL TICKET REMINDER
Recently, the Bulldog Club and Ticket Office sent out a post-season basketball ticket order form to season ticket holders for both our men’s and women’s programs. Both appear to be in position to play in one of the post-season tournaments. That communication asked interested Bulldog supporters to return the form no later than 4:30 p.m. (CDT), Friday, March 13. TOP SCHOLAR-ATHLETES RECOGNIZED
One of our favorite things to do in this column is to recognize the accomplishments of our outstanding student-athletes who succeed off the playing field and court. It is extremely difficult to compete in the Southeastern Conference athletically. It is just as arduous for those young men and women to also compete at a high level in the classroom. Recently, the top scholar-athletes by sport were recognized by our academic and student services offices. The following student-athletes will receive the Newsom Award, given annually to the top student in each of our varsity athletic programs.
Our top female students, who also excel in their respective sports are: Mary Kathryn Govero (basketball), Mallory Batson (golf), Leanna Baldner (soccer), Samantha Jo Bailey (softball), Radka Ferancova (tennis), Simone Domingue (cross country), Marrissa Harris (track), and Kayla Woodard (volleyball).
The top male student-athletes by sport are: Riley Benock (basketball), Grant Hogue (baseball), Derek Sherrod (football), Noah Goldman (golf), Ryan Farlow (tennis), Robert Scribner (cross country), and Daniel Simpkins (track).
Samantha Jo Bailey was our overall winner for females, while Ryan Farlow was the all-sport male winner.

PARKING REINFORCED FOR OUR HANDICAPPED FANS
Those fans that hold handicapped parking passes from Mississippi State or vehicles that are appropriately designated with handicap licenses or passes are reminded by the university’s Parking Services that convenient parking is available to meet their needs. In the lot located between Dudy Noble Field and Humphrey Coliseum, there are 10 designated handicapped parking spaces identified by blue cones and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are also two additional lots available for handicapped parking, located on the east and west sides of Humphrey Coliseum. For fans parking in those areas, golf carts will be available for transportation to the baseball stadium.

APRIL 1 BULLDOG CLUB PLEDGE DEADLINES NEARS
The Bulldog Club also wants to remind you that all pledges and payments made by April 1 will be included in priority rankings that are used to assign football seats and parking. Current season ticket holders have already had the minimum pledge necessary to keep seats entered into their account. Many members pledge more than the minimum amount and pledges can be increased online in your Dog Tag Account, by calling the Bulldog Club at 662-325-3074 or by returning the Bulldog Club pledge card that was sent out last week.
If you have any questions about Bulldog Club priority, please click here to see our Policy Manual. You can also call the office any time at the number above.

RUSTY LINTON NAMED SEC PHYSICIAN OF THE YEAR
Dr. Rusty Linton was recently named the 2009 Team Physician of the Year by the Southeastern Conference. The award is presented annually by the Southern Orthopedic Association. As many of you know, Rusty has served as the primary orthopedic surgeon for our student-athletes for more than 20 years. He has also been a generous donor to the Bulldog Club during that time, as have his colleagues at the Columbus Orthopedic Clinic. Congratulations to Rusty for this nice honor. He joins Dr. Robert Collins, MSU’s team physician and the head of the student health center on campus, in receiving the award.
