Mississippi State Welcomes South Carolina To Humphrey Coliseum

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State enters Wednesday's 7 p.m. showdown against South Carolina at Humphrey Coliseum looking to snap a two-game losing streak following setbacks to LSU and Auburn.
The Bulldogs (16-9, 6-4) are playing for their NCAA Tournament lives and face a Gamecocks (18-5, 7-3) team described by head coach Rick Stansbury as "the best in the East." USC, under the direction of first-year coach Darrin Horn, have won two in a row, including last Saturday's win at the buzzer against Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and six out of their last seven.
They've also won three out of the last four in this series, including their last trip here in 2007 for just their second win at the Hump. Last year, however, MSU posted a thrilling 61-56 overtime victory in Columbia.
So far this season, the Bulldogs are 3-0 against Eastern Division foes, with wins against Vanderbilt, Georgia and Kentucky.
South Carolina is also one of three teams in the SEC MSU has a winning record against (11-8). The other two are Georgia and Ole Miss.
After Wednesday, MState returns to action when it travels to Alabama looking the season sweep. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
