State Golf Teams Place 12 On SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll
STARKVILLE, Miss. ? The Mississippi State men's and women's golf teams placed 12 players on the 2008 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll announced Wednesday by the conference office. Josh Bevell, Noah Goldman, Jake Lambert, Brian Mason, Josh Oller and Logan Young from the men's side along with Julia Huh, Jillian Jones, Emily Parker, Leigh Phillips, Gina Sharp and Suzanne Stanley from the women's team were among 77 MSU athletes to receive the honor.
To be eligible for the honor roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letter-winner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 segment hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
The 2008 listing is based on grades from the 2007 Summer, 2007 Fall and 2008 Spring terms.
