MSU Tennis Teams Place 11 On SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll

STARKVILLE, Miss. ? The Mississippi State men's and women's tennis teams placed 11 players on the 2008 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll announced Wednesday by the conference office. Chris Doerr, Ryan Farlow, Philippe Frayssinoux and Pjotrs Necajevs of the men's team along with Martina Banikova, Elna de Villiers, Tatiana Feit, Radka Ferankova, Renee Joseph, Daniela Juskova and Deandra Saddler of the women's squad were among 77 MSU athletes to receive the honor.
Both seniors, Frayssinoux and Joseph earned the honor for the third consecutive season while Farlow, Banikova, de Villiers, Feit and Juskova all received the honor for the second consecutive year.
To be eligible for the honor roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letter-winner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 segment hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
The 2008 listing is based on grades from the 2006 Summer, 2006 Fall and 2007 Spring terms.
