STARKVILLE, Miss. ? Mississippi State University graduate student Courtney Pratt is among four students nationwide selected to receive a scholarship to the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Convention this summer. The scholarship allows Pratt to attend the convention in Dallas, Texas on June 9-12 and helps cover the cost of lodging and airfare, as well as the cost of registration for the event.
"We are proud of Courtney for receiving this scholarship," said athletic promotions coordinator Chad Thomas. "She is a great representative of Mississippi State and works very hard in the athletic marketing department."
Pratt is an employee at Harvey’s in Starkville and an active member of S.P.O.R.T.S., the sports administration graduate student organization.
Through S.P.O.R.T.S. she has helped raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club and is involved with Special Olympics.
Pratt is expected to graduate in May 2009 with her Master of Business Administration degree and a minor in sports administration. The Starkville native is the daughter of Martha Pratt.
Also attending the conference are representatives from Alaska-Fairbanks, Texas A&M and Wisconsin-Green Bay. Recipients had to be nominated by an NCAA staff member and winners were selected based on their achievements and personal accomplishments.
