Russ Sneed Named To SEC Baseball Community Service Team

STARKVILLE, Miss. - MSU sophomore infielder Russ Sneed from Senatobia, Miss., has been named to the 2008 SEC Baseball Community Service. Formerly known as the Good Works Team, the honor group recognizes student-athletes that give back to the local community through superior service efforts.
Sneed, one of two Bulldogs to start all 56 games in 2008, participated in the MSU Student M-Club’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, helping collect and distribute food items to needy families in the Starkville area. He was active in promoting reading with area youth as a speaker at the "Starkville Read Program" at the Starkville Library and in the MSU Student M-Club’s Bully’s Book Blitz held at Ward Stewart Elementary School. Sneed also served as a volunteer worker with the annual MSU Halloween Carnival held for area youth and with the "Take A Kid To A Game" program held during the 2007-08 basketball program.
