MState Preps For Final Tournament Prior To Postseason Play

STARKVILLE, Miss. ? The Mississippi State men’s golf team travels to Madison, Miss. on Monday April 7 to compete in the Bank of America Intercollegiate at the par 72 Reunion Golf Club.
MState will send a familiar lineup of the intercollegiate with senior Josh Oller and a quartet of juniors, Matt Fast, Carlos Sainz, Jr., Josh Bevell and current-team stroke average leader (72.4 strokes per 18 holes) Noah Goldman. Senior Jake Lambert will travel as well, competing as an individual.
“We have several guys that have played at Reunion (Golf Club) and played well there,” said Coach Clay Homan. “Hopefully we can use this as an opportunity to get some good momentum going into the SEC tournament.”
The Bulldogs are apart of a 15 team field that includes top 25 opponent, UT-Chattanooga and UAB, as well as SEC-foes Mississippi, LSU and Vanderbilt. Also competing will be Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Mercer, UNCG, North Florida, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana and Southern Mississippi.
“We are sending a competitive lineup but also facing a competitive field,” said Homan. “There are six to seven teams that are very close to each other talent-wise, with a number of other schools with the ability to be competitive.”
The Bulldogs will tee off at 8:30 a.m. with live stats available through mstateathletics.com.
