Bulldog Track Team No. 24 In Latest National Rankings

STARKVILLE, Miss. ? The Mississippi State men’s track and field team held on to a 24th-place ranking in the latest USTFCCCA Division I poll, as released by the national organization on Wednesday.
MSU is joined by LSU (#1), Florida (#4), Auburn (#6), Tennessee (#10), Arkansas (#12), Kentucky (#21) and Georgia (#25) as the Southeastern Conference members in this week’s poll.
Last weekend, MState competed at the Bulldog Limited in Athens, Ga. on the campus of the University of Georgia and collected three more NCAA qualifying marks. The performance of the weekend came from senior Jamil Hubbard, who collected his fourth individual NCAA regional mark of the season. Hubbard finished first in the 400-meter dash, running a personal-best time of 46.05 seconds. With his time, the Atlanta, Ga.-native now owns the top 400-meter dash time in the SEC and 10th in the country. Senior Chris Woods added a second NCAA regional mark in 800-meter run with his first-place time of 1:48.55. Woods’ time is third in the SEC and seventh in the nation. State’s 4x100-meter relay team also tallied their fifth NCAA regional qualifying mark of the season with their first-place finish in 39.70.
The Bulldogs return to competition this tomorrow, competing in the 114th annual Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Penn., starting on Thursday, April 24 at Franklin Field.
