MSU Women's Tennis To Meet Indiana State In Mobile Saturday

STARKVILLE, Miss. ? Mississippi State’s Lady Bulldog tennis team travels to Mobile, Ala., on Saturday, March 15, to meet up with Indiana State in a non-conference contest. The match with the Sycamores is set for 11 a.m. CT.
MSU enters this weekend’s action with a 6-5 overall record. Earlier this week, State defeated the 74th-ranked Panthers of Eastern Illinois 7-0 in Gulf Shores, Ala., to start their spring break tour in south Alabama.
The match versus Indiana State will serve as the first-ever meeting between the two schools. MSU women’s tennis is 0-1 all-time against schools from Indiana with their only loss coming to Indiana in a matchup in 1990 in Bloomington, Ind.
"It is going to be a tough match," said head coach Tracy Lane. "Indiana State is a good team. This is a match we need to win and to do that we need to play our best."
Following Saturday’s action, the Lady Bulldogs will jump back into Southeastern Conference action with a road trip to Columbia, S.C., where they will play 33rd-ranked South Carolina next Friday, March 21, at 12 p.m. CT. Then, on Easter Sunday, MSU will be back at home to host the third-ranked Florida Gators at 1 p.m. CT at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
