MSU Looks To Rebound At Linger Longer Invitational

MSU will look to rebound from a 12th-place finish at the Seminole Intercollegiate on March 3rd prior to finishing in the top five, five straight times, tying a school record.
"We hope to bounce back and learn from the Seminole Intercollegiate," said Coach Clay Homan. "We did well here last year, and even though this is a different course, we are excited about this opportunity."
Making the trip for the Bulldogs will be a quartet of juniors in Noah Goldman, Carlos Sainz, Jr., Logan Young and Matt Fast, as well as senior Josh Oller. Goldman is the team's leader in stroke average and currently ranks ninth in the SEC in overall stroke average with 71.94 strokes per 18 holes. The Longwood, Fla.-native has also been MState's top finisher a team-leading four times and has won two individual titles this year at the Magnolia Cup and Roadrunner Intercollegiate. Young is making his first tournament appearance of the spring after competing in all five of the Bulldogs' fall tournaments. The
MSU will tee off among the 14-team field that includes seven ranked teams in the top-50 according to GolfStat.com. The field includes SEC-foes Georgia and Mississippi followed by host-school Mercer, Chattanooga, Clemson, Texas Tech, Michigan, Purdue, Memphis, Eastern Michigan, South Alabama, Georgia State and Kennesaw State.
