Agents
We ask that you commit to performing the following steps prior to contacting one of our student-athletes to ensure that they are not negatively affected:
1) If you wish to contact one of our student-athletes, please email Beth Hopper, Associate A.D./ Compliance, at bhopper@athletics.msstate.edu. Please notify us in writing which student-athlete you wish to speak with, along with all individuals associated with your organization that will potentially be in contact with the student-athletes. State law requires this notification PRIOR TO ANY CONTACT with a student-athlete in the State of Mississippi.
2) Our office will check to ensure each individual wishing to speak with a student-athlete concerning their future representation is registered with the Mississippi Secretary of State's Office.
3) Once each individual is cleared by our office, the student-athlete and his/her family will be given contact information for each individual wishing to speak with them. Individuals will be notified at this time as well.
We understand that the profession of an athletic agent is a very difficult and competitive field. We ask that you respect our guidelines while maintaining an open line of communication with our athletic department. In return, we will do everything possible to allow you an opportunity to present your credentials and demonstrate your character to our student-athletes and their families.
