MSU's Coachman And McPherson Enter Trackwire.com's Dandy Dozen List; Men's 4x400 Relay Team Moves To Sixth

The web site releases its list of the top-12 individuals in each track and field event along with relay team events during the outdoor season. Coachman, ranked No. 8 in the 800-meter event, is coming off a third-place finish in the 800-meter run at the 2007 Southeastern Conference Track and Field Championships this past weekend in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He clocked a time of one minute, 47.40 seconds in the finals of the event. His time ranks as the second-best time in the country behind Southern California's Duane Solomon. Coachman will enter the NCAA Mideast Regional with the top time in the 800m event.
McPherson is coming off a personal-best effort in the 1500-meter run with a mark of 4:20.87 at the league championships. This week's listing has the Nampa, Idaho-native ranked 10th in the 1500-meter Dandy Dozen. She will compete in the 1500 and 800-meter runs at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Columbia, Mo. on May 25-26.
State's 4x400-meter relay team, which has been ranked all season by the web site, moved up three positions after this weekend's competition. The foursome of Bruce Davis, Nathan Daniels, Chris Woods and Ezra Jones claimed fourth place at the SEC meet with the fastest time of the season of 3:05.93. Senior Arthur Davis, a mainstay in the relay squad was hampered by an injury this week and did not run in the 4x400.
