Bulldog Golfers Close Out Season At Linger Longer Invitational

The 17-team field will test the par-72, 7,393-yard Oconee Course at Reynolds Plantation on Sunday with 36 holes of competition and the final round is set for Monday. The field includes nine teams that were selected for NCAA Regional competition this past week by the NCAA Men's Golf Committee - Alabama, Augusta State, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia State, Louisville and North Carolina.
The Bulldogs last appearance on the course was in the Southeastern Conference Men's Golf Championships. Sophomore Carlos Sainz, Jr. led all MSU individuals with a 16th-place finish after carding a final-round even-par 70 at Sea Island Golf Club's Seaside Course. Noah Goldman continues to lead the team in scoring with a 73.75 average heading into the final three rounds of the season.
State is making its initial appearance in the Linger Longer Invitational. The two-day event was added to the slate after MState's visit to Ruston, La. for the Squire Creek Intercollegiate was trimmed to one round due to rain. UGA is the reigning team champion of the event after carding a 3-under par total.
The first round will get underway at 8 a.m. EST. Live results will be available on golfstat.com.
