State Guard Alexis Rack Named to Gballmag.com Young All-America Team
STARKVILLE, Miss. ??“ Mississippi State freshman guard Alexis Rack has been named to the fourth annual Gballmag.com Young All-America Women's Basketball Team as announced by the organization today.

For her efforts throughout the season, Rack was named a unanimous selection to the 2006-07 Southeastern Conference all-Freshman Team. Rack also scored in double figures in 10 straight contests, becoming the first player since Tan White to do so. She scored her season-high 24 points against Georgia Tech in the championship game of the Georgia Tech Holiday Tournament. During the contest, Rack drained six three-pointers en route to being named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
She was named SEC Freshman of the Week twice during the year. Rack ended the season averaging 10.3 points per game to tie for second on the team in scoring. She shot 72 percent from the free-throw line this season to earn the team's Free-Throw Percentage award.
Joining Rack on the team was Gballmag.com Rookie of the Year Tina Charles from Connecticut. Rutgers guard Epiphany Prince also was named to the team, along with Jayne Appel (Stanford), Allyssa DeHann (Michigan State), LeLe Hardy (Clemson), Amber Harris (Xavier), Katie Madison (Idaho), Andrea Riley (Oklahoma State), Danielle Wilson (Baylor) and Monica Wright (Virginia).
Other SEC freshmen named to the team included Donica Cosby of Arkansas and Georgia's Ashley Houts.
