Game Operations Internship Application
Description:
- Assist in the day to day management and operational support of all athletic department sponsored contests, games, and events and the facilities that these activities and events are held in
- Responsible for assisting the coordination of other university and non-university units in the operational support of game and events
- Reports facility repair and maintenance issues during games and events to the Coordinator of Athletic Facility Maintenance
- Will conduct pre-season, pre-game, and pre-event meetings with all necessary support staff
- Will report event, game, and facility operations emergencies to supervisors and respond to these emergencies as required
- When required, will perform preventative maintenance and general upkeep of athletic facilities as they relate to event and facility operations and grounds, including cleaning and janitorial service
- Experience the daily duties and game day responsibilities for game operations
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists in all aspects of athletic department event management and facility operations
- Performs pre-planning event management and operational organization of assigned events
- Performs on-site event management and facility opera??ons supervision of assigned events
- Provides customer service to event and game personnel, spectators, programs clients, athletic teams, and staff to ensure clean, secure and safe game, event and facility conditions at all times
- Perform related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Positive interest in athletics and the sport industry
- Ability to manage time commitment and dedication for all games assigned
- Mississippi State University full-term enrollment
- Maintain a 2.50 GPA or higher
- Possess a diligent and enthusiastic work ethic with a desire to learn
- Ability to coordinate, balance duties, communicate with others, and work efficiently
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to work long and irregular hours
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sport Studies / Sports Administration major
- Working knowledge of collegiate sports
