Bulldogs Win 2026 Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Mississippi State women's golf earned their first team title since the 2024 SEC Championship on Sunday as they took the 2026 Mason Rudolph Championship with a three-day total of 2-under par, beating out Arizona State and Florida by one stroke.

The Bulldogs entered the final day of action in second place, three strokes behind the then leaders Florida, who were 8-under at the beginning of the day. The Dawgs put together a team performance to take the title, as all five State golfers finished inside of the top 20, while three finished inside the top 10.

Samantha Whateley was the top Bulldog finisher at T5, her fourth career finish inside of the top five and her tenth inside the top 20. She was one of just eight golfers in the field to finish under par in the event. Whateley's finish of 3-under was her best finish since The Ally in October of 2025 and marked just her third career finish under par.

Alicia Bellendir and Moa Stridh were crucial parts in helping the Bulldogs secure the tournament in the third round, as they both earned career-best finishes of T9 at even par. Stridh put together her second par or better round in as many days, as she finished the third round 2-under. After making the turn at 3-over par, Stridh would go bogey free on the back nine. She carded an eagle on the par five 14th then finished her round with three consecutive birdies to cap off the Mason Rudolph Championship with a round of 2-under 69.

Bellendir started her tournament with two par or better rounds in the first two days. When the Bulldogs dropped from the sole lead in the final holes of the event on Sunday, she recorded an eagle on the par five 18th hole to resecure the team lead for State, which allowed Whateley to finish her day with a par to secure the team title.

Alona Avery and Avery Weed both shot two-over rounds in their final day of action. Alona finished T14 at 2-over in her Bulldog debut, her 11th career top 20 finish, after shooting even par in each of the first two rounds. Weed earned her 21st top 20 finish after she ended the event T17 at 3-over.

Mississippi State will return to action for their annual home event, The Ally, hosted at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point. The tournament is set to kick off on Monday, October 5. Live scoring will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
