Women’s Golf Begins Season At Boilermaker Classic

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's golf will begin their 2026-27 campaign on Monday at the Boilermaker Classic, hosted by Purdue, at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The first day will see 36 holes played, while the third round will be played on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs begin the season after making their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance last season, extending the program record. State returns seven of the eight golfers from that roster this season.
A familiar duo will sit atop of the Mississippi State lineup in the form of seniors Avery Weed and Samantha Whateley. The duo both won a pair of individual championships last season, with Whateley winning her career first at the Mason Rudolph Championship, while Weed earned her third at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Weed earned a spot on the ANNIKA Award preseason watch list last week, which is awarded annually to the top collegiate golfer each season.
Moa Stridh will tee off for her sophomore season after recording nine par or better rounds as a freshman last year, the sixth-most of any freshman in program history. Stridh's best finish last season came at the UCF Challenge where she finished T10.
A pair of Bulldogs will make their collegiate debuts on Monday. Sophomore Alicia Bellendir, a Coppell, Texas, native, will tee off for State for the first time after joining the team for the spring semester last season. Blondie Persson-Lidgren, a freshman from Sweden, will round out the Bulldog five.
