Avery Weed Named To ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Haskins Foundation named Avery Weed to the 2026-27 ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List on Thursday morning, putting her among 25 of the NCAA's best women's collegiate golfers.
Weed, a senior from Ocean Springs, is no stranger to the ANNIKA Award, which is given each year to the top female Division 1 golfer. She was on last years preseason watch list and made her first appearance on an ANNIKA watch list in the fall of her sophomore season.
Throughout her first three seasons, Weed has posted a career 71.59 scoring average, which would stand as the second-best average in program history. She has carded 53 par or better rounds in 91 rounds of action, 23 of which have been in the 60s. She finished in the top 10 in 13 of her 30 career events, including three individual victories.
Weed and the Bulldogs will kick off their fall campaign next week in the Boilermaker Classic, hosted by Purdue. Scoring will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.

Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award is annually given to the top female Division One collegiate golfer; the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the college golf media. Named for Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top female golfer and to match the Haskins Award, which acknowledges the top male Division I collegiate golfer. Farah O'Keefe became the 13th ANNIKA Award winner in 2026.
