STARKVILLE — Mississippi State punter Ethan Pulliam has been named to the 2026 Ray Guy Award Preseason Watch List, the Augusta Sports Council announced Friday.
The prestigious award is presented annually to the nation’s top collegiate punter. Pulliam is among a select group of specialists recognized by the committee as players to watch as they head into the 2026 season.
Pulliam took over full-time punting duties during the 2025 campaign and ended the year with a program record 46.8 yards per punt, passing the mark previously set by Andy Russ in 1996. The Starkville native was named a Midseason All-American by The Sporting News and ended the year as an All-SEC Third Team punter and earned a spot on the Second Team All-America list by The Sporting News.
Pulliam enters the 2026 season as a Second Team punter on the Sporting News preseason All-America team. In addition to his preparation on the field for the upcoming season, Pulliam recently donated money for school supplies for the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District.
The Ray Guy Award watch list will be narrowed down to ten semifinalists on Nov. 6, 2026, with three finalists announced on Nov. 24. The winner will be unveiled during the Home Depot College Football Awards show on ESPN.
