July 01, 2026 | Softball
STARKVILLE — Former Mississippi State softball standout Jessie Blaine has signed with the Knoxville Miracle of the Professional Softball League.
Blaine is the 11th Bulldog to play softball professionally in the Samantha Ricketts era, bringing the program total of professional players to 30. She played at Mississippi State during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
During her senior year, Blaine earned NFCA Second Team All-South Region honors, starting 55 games between catcher and designated player. She led the team in walks (37), ranked second in on-base percentage (.468), and placed third in batting average (.336). She also completed the 2025 season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage followed by 198 put-outs and 22 assists.
The Pike Road, Alabama native said "I'm beyond excited to join a long list of Mississippi State alumnae dedicated to growing professional softball. The Miracle is a unique opportunity for me to build a full-time career in our sport. My goal is to expand that opportunity to future generations of female athletes."
Blaine's success extended beyond the field, as she was a three-time SEC Honor Roll recipient and a three-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete. She also achieved College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors in both her junior and senior years with Mississippi State.
In addition to helping the Miracle win on the field, Blaine will be working in the front office as part of the team's communications unit.
The Professional Softball League is currently in its inaugural season, planning to add more teams in summer of 2027, including Blaine's Knoxville Miracle team.
