
Boulay, Kaplan Named TO SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mississippi State track and field athletes Gabrielle Boulay and Caleb Kaplan were named to the SEC Community Service Team, announced by the conference on Thursday.
Boulay, a cross-country runner from Franklin, Tennessee, has contributed to the local Starkville youth during her time at State. With the help of the cross-country team, she co-founded a chapter of "Run Your City" in Starkville, an organization created to promote running in the local community.
Kaplan, a hammer thrower from Rye, New York, has also participated in community service events in his time here at State. Most notably, Kaplan engaged with local youth in a reading program, assisting in the Starkville Library Reading program.
Boulay and Kaplan, both juniors on the track and field team, concluded their seasons at the SEC Championships last month. Both athletes have spots in the program record books, with Boulay being instrumental in the cross
country and distance races, and Kaplan in the hammer throw.
