STARKVILLE – No. 6 Mississippi State continued its dominant run at home Friday, defeating Ole Miss 6-1 at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.

Ole Miss struck first in doubles, as the Rebels' duo of Matthieu Chambonniere and Benjamin Martin took a 6-3 win. The Bulldogs responded on court two, where Mario Martinez Serrano and Michal Novansky evened the score with a 6-2 victory. Ole Miss clinched the doubles point on court one, where Kai Milburn and Isac Stromberg upset the No. 4 pair of Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez in a tight 7-6(4) tiebreak.

Mississippi State completely erased that early deficit in singles, sweeping all six courts to secure the win. No. 97 Bryan Hernandez Cortes put the Bulldogs on the board with a quick 6-2, 6-2 win on court six.

No. 6 Petar Jovanovic extended the advantage to 2-1 with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court two No. 62 Mario Martinez Serrano followed with a 6-4, 6-2 victory on court four to give State a 3-1 lead.

No. 123 Raphael Vaksmann secured the clinch for Mississippi State, winning 6-3, 6-4 on court five to give the Bulldogs an insurmountable 4-1 advantage.

The Bulldogs added two more points to the final tally. No. 35 Benito Sanchez Martinez earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory on court one and No. 68 Niccolo Baroni capped the night by rallying for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 win on court three.
