No. 6 Mississippi State Falls to No. 9 Texas A&M, 4-3

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 6 Mississippi State dropped a tightly contested 4-3 decision to No. 9 Texas A&M on Friday evening.

Texas A&M claimed the early advantage by securing the doubles point, taking two of three matches to go ahead 1-0. Mississippi State's duo of Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez continued their strong play as a pair, leading 6-5 before their match went unfinished.

Niccolo Baroni levelled the match with a straight set win due to Texas A&M's Alex Frusina retiring. The Aggies regained their lead once more with a win on court five. Mississippi State responded with wins on courts one and three, but the Aggies were able to gain momentum with the match knotted at three.

With the outcome resting on the final court, Texas A&M secured the decisive point, clinching the match and handing Mississippi State its narrow 4-3 defeat.
