TEAM NOTES
- Missouri led wire-to-wire to claim an 88-64 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon at Humphrey Coliseum.
- Prior to the game, Josh Hubbard was presented with a 2026 Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup award for his exceptional leadership, his character and his commitment to community service. He also received a commemorative ball recognizing him breaking State's all-time three-point record at Ole Miss (02/14).
- The Tigers scored the contest's first 9 points and took a 54-23 lead into the locker room after hitting 19 of their 31 shot attempts during the opening 20 minutes.
- State outscored Missouri by a 41-34 margin in the second half where Josh Hubbard, King Grace and Shawn Jones Jr. combined for 27 points
- The Tigers have won four straight in the series which is their longest run over the 24 meetings. Overall, the Bulldogs still possess a 14-10 all-time series edge.
- State is 13-10 this season and 69-28 over the last four seasons under Coach Jans when shooting 40.0 percent or higher.
- State dropped to 8-7 this season and 41-20 over the last four seasons under Coach Jans at Humphrey Coliseum.
- Keys for Missouri were converting 18 State turnovers into a 27-10 advantage in points off turnovers. The Tigers also won the battle of the boards, 38-26, and amassed 14 of the game's 19 points on second-chance opportunities.
- State sank 26-of-53 from the floor (49.1 percent), hit on 5-of-19 from three-point territory (26.3 percent) and connected on a 7-of-13 clip at the free throw line (53.8 percent).
- Conversely, Missouri recorded a 30-of-59 shooting effort (50.8 percent), made 8-of-20 of its three-pointers (40.0 percent) and tallied a 20-for-24 mark at the charity stripe (83.3 percent).
PLAYER NOTES
Josh Hubbard
- Started his 79th consecutive game over the past three seasons (01/27/2024-02/28/2026) where he has led the team in scoring in 52 of those 79 outings.
- Opened up scoring for the Bulldogs with a driving floater off glass.
- Provided a team-leading 16 points where he shot 6-of-14 overall, 2-of-6 on three-pointers and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
- The junior guard now has 1862 career points which helped him stay in 5th place on the program's all-time list. He enters the Florida game 57 points shy of passing Jim Ashmore (1954-55-56-57) for 4th place.
- The 1862 points allowed Hubbard to surpass LSU's Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (1989-90) for 5th place on the SEC scoring list for players after their junior season. He enters the Florida game 80 points shy of eclipsing LSU's Shaquille O'Neal (1990-91-92).
- Hubbard's 622 points in 2025-26 allowed him to pass Darryl Wilson (1995-96) for the 8th most in program history for a single season. He and Bailey Howell (1957-58-59) are 2 of 4 players who have three of their program's top 10 scoring seasons at SEC schools.
- Notched double figures for a team-leading 27th time this season and for the 90th time over his 98 career games. Â
- The 90 games of 10+ points are good enough for 6th place at State and is one away from matching Ray White (1976-77-78-79) for 5th place.
- The 2 treys enabled Hubbard to extend his program record. He now has 300 career three's. He enters the Florida game 7 triples shy of passing Vanderbilt's John Jenkins (2010-11-12) and entering the SEC's top 10.
- Drained multiple three's for the 6th straight game (02/11-02/25), the 21st time this season and the 80th time in his career.
- Dished out multiple assists for the 9th consecutive game, the 27th time this season and the 75th time in his career.
- Swiped multiple steals for the 12th time this season and the 25th time in his career.
