TEAM NOTES
- Mississippi State dropped a 100-75 decision to No. 17 Alabama on Wednesday evening at Coleman Coliseum.
- The Crimson Tide sank 16 three-pointers and jumped out to a 63-33 halftime lead.
- State outscored Alabama by a 42-37 margin during the second half.
- The Bulldogs used a 17-2 run midway through the second half to trim the deficit to 84-65 at the 5:08 mark.
- Alabama has won 10 consecutive games in the series and 10 straight games over the Bulldogs in Tuscaloosa. Overall, the Tide hold a 139-78 series advantage.
- State grabbed 12 offensive rebounds to claim a 19-17 edge in second-chance opportunity.
- State sank 27-of-71 from the floor (38.0 percent), hit on 15-of-41 from three-point territory (36.6 percent) and connected on a 6-of-12 clip at the free throw line (50.0 percent).
- The 15 three-pointers matched the 2nd most hit by the Bulldogs under Coach Jans.
- State is 7-3 this season and 19-9 over the last four seasons when knocking down 10 or more three-pointers in a game.
- Conversely, Alabama recorded a 34-of-71 shooting effort (47.9 percent), made 22-of-50 of its three-pointers (44.0 percent) and tallied a 10-for-13 mark at the charity stripe (76.9 percent).
PLAYER NOTES
Josh Hubbard
- Started his 78th consecutive game over the past three seasons (01/27/2024-02/25/2026).
- Provided 11 points where he shot 4-of-13 overall, 2-of-6 on three-pointers and 1-of-3 from the free-throw line.
- His 11 points and 4 assists helped him surpass over 600 points and 100 assists for the second consecutive season. He remains the only player in State history and is the fifth major conference player (ACC, BIG EAST, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC) to achieve the feat this season.
- Hubbard is the 4th SEC player during the 2000s and the 9th player in SEC history to have multiple 600+ points and 100+ assists seasons.
- Notched double figures for a team-leading 26th time this season and for the 89th time over his 97 career games. Â
- The junior guard now has 1846 career points which enabled him to pass Rickey Brown (1976-77-78-79) for 5th place on the program's all-time list.
- The 1846 points also allowed Hubbard to remain pass Kentucky's Jamal Mashburn (Kentucky) for 7th place on the SEC scoring list for players after their junior season. He enters the Missouri game 9 points shy of eclipsing LSU's Mahmoud Abdul-Rahf.
- Hubbard's 606 points in 2025-26 allowed him to pass Iverson Molinar (2021-22) and his own 2023-24 season for the 9th most in program history for a single season. He joins Bailey Howell (1957-58-59) as the only players with a trio of top 10 scoring seasons at State.
- The 2 treys enabled Hubbard to extend his program record. He now has 298 career three's which allowed him to pass Vanderbilt's Ronnie McMahan for 11th place in SEC history.
- Hubbard enters the Missouri game 9 triples shy of entering the SEC's top 10.
- Drained multiple three's for the 20th time this season and the 79th time in his career.
- Dished out multiple assists for the 26th time this season and the 74th time in his career.
- Swiped multiple steals for the 11th time this season and the 24th time in his career.
- Made his 5th consecutive, his 19th start this season and his 80th career start between Illinois, Georgetown and State.
- Provided 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
- Drained multiple three's for the 7th time in his last 10 games (01/21-02/25), the 15th time this season and the 57th time in his career.
- Dished out multiple assists for the 14th time this season and the 67th time of his career.
