
State Enters Final Round Of Chevron Collegiate

HUMBLE, Texas – After a pair of rounds in the opening day of the Chevron Collegiate, Mississippi State women's golf sits in 11th at 7-over par. The Bulldogs will look to climb in the final round of action tomorrow.
Monday's start saw a 36-hole day, with the field beginning the day with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The Bulldogs finished the first 18 holes even par before shooting 7-over in the second half of the day.
Samantha Whateley shot her ninth par or better round of the season during the first 18 holes, finishing the round at 1-under. After carding a double-bogey on her second hole of the day, Whateley concluded the round with 14 pars and a pair of birdies on the par-4 third and 17th hole. She has now carded 22 par or better rounds in her career. Whateley is even par entering the final day.
Ines Belchior shot even par in both of her rounds and sits T25 with Whateley entering the final round. Belchior canceled out an early double-bogey in her second round with an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole, and carded two birdies.
The Bulldogs will once again start their day with an 8 a.m. shotgun start from the Golf Club of Houston. Live scoring is available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
