
Bulldogs Drop Sunday Matchup To Missouri

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State dropped Sunday's contest to the Missouri Tigers, 88-80.

The contest featured a high scoring affair which saw both sides explode on the offensive side of the ball. Both teams shot over 50 percent in the first half of the contest, which saw the Bulldogs lead by one entering the locker room at the half.

The Bulldogs made 12 three-pointers in the contest, which was the most they've hit in a game this season. Five Bulldogs finished the contest in double figures, marking the seventh time this season State has done such. The Bulldogs also outrebounded Missouri by 11, won the turnover margin, and had the fewest turnovers in an SEC game, but were unable to climb the hump over the hot-handed Tigers.

Kharyssa Richardson scored 21 points in the afternoon matchup, while corralling five rebounds and dishing out her career high of four assists. This was Richardson's fifth 20-point performance of her career and fourth of the season, all of which have come in conference play.

Trayanna Crisp knocked down a career-high six three pointers in an 18-point performance. Prior to today's game, State was 4-0 in game where Crisp hit three or more threes. She also dished our four assists and grabbed one steal.

Madison Francis earned her 16th game in double figures with 17 points. The freshman finished one rebound shy of her seventh double-double of the season. She also knocked down a career-high three triples.

Favour Nwaedozi added 12 points and eight rebounds to the Bulldogs' total. She also rejected a season-high three shots. Jaylah Lampley finished the contest with 10 points, including tying her season-high of three triples.

The Bulldogs will be back on the road to take on the third-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks on Thursday, February 5. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
