TEAM NOTES
- Mississippi State has won six consecutive games and seven of its last eight outings as the Bulldogs used a strong second-half effort to pull away from Oklahoma, 72-53, on Wednesday evening at Humphrey Coliseum.
- The Bulldogs have won three straight under Coach Jans and improved to 57-35 overall in SEC home openers.
- The 19-point triumph marked the 5th largest margin of victory over an SEC opponent under Coach Jans.
- State snapped a two-game losing streak to the Sooners and improved to 4-2 all-time against Oklahoma. The two teams have protected their home floors during their two SEC meetings.
- The Sooners erased an 8-point State advantage over the last 5:33 of the opening half to draw even at 27-27.
- Trailing 38-35 at the 15:57 mark of the second half, State ripped off a 14-1 spurt over the next 6:21 to turn the tables.
- Shawn Jones Jr. gave State the lead at 39-38 with a dunk courtesy of Achor Achor. Then, Jamarion Davis-Fleming added a putback layup followed by a pair of baskets from Quincy Ballard and Ja'Borri McGhee to make it 49-39 with 9:36 to go.
- Oklahoma crept back to within 53-45 before Josh Hubbard took over down the stretch. A three-pointer ignited a 12-point flurry over the closing 6:57 of the contest which enabled State to win a comfortable 19-point margin.
- Keys to the State win were doubling up the Sooners in paint points by a 36-18 margin in addition to securing 14 of the game's 21 points off turnovers and 19 of the game's 29 points on second-chance opportunities.
- The 7 points off turnovers and 3 bench points by Oklahoma were opponent lows for State on the season.

Josh Hubbard

- Marked the 2nd consecutive game, 3rd time this season and the 7th time in his career where Hubbard has eclipsed 30+ points.
