THE BOTTOM LINE: Mississippi State fell to No. 15 Vanderbilt 88-56 at Humphrey Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. The Commodores seized momentum early with a 22-4 advantage and led by as much as 23 before taking a 51-30 lead into halftime. In the second half, Vanderbilt kept its foot on the gas and iced the game after building a lead as high as 34.
KEY NUMBERS: Jayden Epps recorded 14 points and five rebounds for State. Sergej Macura added eight points and eight boards in the effort, but it wasn't enough for the Dawgs. A big key to the loss was Vanderbilt scoring 28 points off 17 State turnovers.
NEXT UP FOR MSU: The Bulldogs travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT and the contest will be aired on SEC Network.
