Davon Booth Named To Hornung Award Watch List

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football's Davon Booth was named to the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, the Louisville Sports Commission announced Thursday. The Paul Hornung Award is presented to the most versatile player in college football.

Booth, a native of North Las Vegas, Nev., enters his second season with the Bulldogs following a 2024 campaign that saw Booth earn Third Team All-SEC honors as an all-purpose player. Last season, Booth played in all 12 games, starting 10, while rushing for 759 yards and five touchdowns. He added 13 receptions for 164 yards and four scores to go along with his 308 kickoff return yards.

He totaled 1,231 all-purpose yards, averaging 102.6 yards per game, to finish 5th in the SEC in all-purpose yards. His 1,231 yards were the most in a single season by a Mississippi State player since 2019. Booth also led the team in explosive plays (20+ yards) with 18, eight of which came on the ground. From Oct. 19 through Nov. 23, he had a five-game streak of having at least one rush of 30+ yards and scored a touchdown in six straight games from Oct. 12 through Nov. 23.
