
Silva Rounds Out State’s 2026 Signing Class

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State softball completed its 2026 roster with the addition of Tatum Silva, a transfer from Utah State. The left-handed outfielder will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Silva is coming off of a First Team All-Mountain West selection this season where she started 48 games in left field and was second on the team with a .381 batting average. She led the team and ranked third in the Mountain West with a .491 batting average in conference play while totaling 12 RBIs, nine walks and just five strikeouts.
"We are excited to round out our transfer class with the addition of Tatum Silva," head coach Samantha Ricketts said. "Tatum will provide a ton of game experience to our outfield that is needed after the graduation of Sierra Sacco. She is a savvy left-handed hitter who can find ways to get on base and be a table-setter for our lineup. We are looking forward to working with her soon in StarkVegas."
In her freshman season, Silva made 40 starts and ranked fourth on the team with a .306 average. She led the team that year in stolen bases as well. The Rescue, California, native is a career .345 hitter with one of every eight hits going for extra bases. She walked 23 times in 2025 for a .472 on-base percentage. In league play, her .554 on-base percentage ranked second in the Mountain West.
Defensively, she boasts four career outfield assists. In 2025, she made just one error in 61 chances.
Silva attended Ponderosa High School where he team won their league title every season. She was twice a first team all-league selection and also ran track as part of her school's first sectional championship. Silva played travel ball with LTG Henderson, which finished third at the 2022 PGF Nationals.
