No. 54 Bulldogs Fall to No. 37 Gators

STARKVILLE – The No. 54 Mississippi State women's tennis team was defeated by the No. 37 Florida Gators on Friday, 4-0.
Emma Cohen and Alessia Tagliente picked up the sole victory for the Maroon and White in doubles play, as they defeated Florida's pair of Talia Neilson-Gatenby and Noemie Oliveras 6-2. This moves them to 6-4 overall and 3-4 in dual match play.
Athina Pitta battled her way to win the first set against Nikki Daubernova, 7-5, but got stopped before she ever got the chance to finish. Jayna Clemens was also on the comeback in singles, 4-2, in the second set after dropping the first, but the unfortunately had the same outcome as Pitta.
