LEXINGTON – The 26^th-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs were defeated by the 28^th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats, 4-2.

MSU clinched the doubles point with wins by MSU pairs of No. 10 Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez and No. 29 Niccolo Baroni and Mario Martinez Serrano. No. 65 Sanchez Martinez also secured a ranked singles win.

Records: Mississippi State 11-2 // Kentucky 8-3

Match Notes:

Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez reached the impressive mark of 44 career victories together with their victory today, which is good for the fourth-most wins by a doubles duo in program history.

No. 29 Niccolo Baroni and Mario Martinez Serrano extended their doubles win streak to four with their win over Martin Breysach and Jaden Weekes of Kentucky.
No. 65 Sanchez Martinez secured a singles triumph over No. 66 Weekes in a three setter, 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3. The Potsdam, Germany, native has six ranked singles wins on the year, which is good for most on the team.

Next Up: The Bulldogs will be back in action at home as they battle the LSU Tigers on Thursday, February 27, at 3 p.m.
