Bulldogs Add French Native Melissa Guillet As Midseason Enrollee
December 29, 2025 | Women's Basketball
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's basketball head coach Sam Purcell announced the addition of Melissa Guillet from La Roche-sur-Yon, France. Guillet will join the team in January for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
Â
"Adding Melissa this late in the year is an awesome opportunity," Purcell said. "She has been playing the game at the highest level, and her international experience will be huge for us as she joins the program and helps us chase championships."
Â
Guillet, a 6-1 guard, has played the past two seasons with Basket Club La Tronche Meylan. During the current season, Guillet has appeared in all of the club's 13 games and has averaged 7.0 points and 2.6 rebounds in 17.7 minutes of action. She scored a season-high 15 points at a 50 percent clip in her season debut. Guillet went 4-5 from distance in a recent matchup, concluding the game with 13 points.
Â
Guillet is no stranger to competing in the international circuit, as she played in the 2024 FIBA U18 and 2022 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship and guided Team France to the Championship in each of those. In the 2024 edition of U18's, Guillet averaged 7.4 points and 1.6 rebounds.
Â
Mississippi State women's basketball will be back in action when they open Southeastern Conference play against the Auburn Tigers on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network+. Tickets for the contest can be purchased by clicking here.
